Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirement | No float requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult emergency department patients including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma presentations in a high-volume unit (~170 visits/day, 53 beds)
• Perform IV starts, triage assessment, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation in accordance with unit protocols
• Maintain patient ratios as assigned: non-critical 3:1, critical 2:1, and medical boarders 5:1
• Utilize unit systems including PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR for documentation and communication
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Complete approximately 36 hours of on-unit orientation; pre-start online modules required prior to first day

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
• Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, MOAB, and BLS
• Proficiency in IV start, triage, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Contract length of 20+ weeks available through February 27, 2027 (hard stop date)
• Local candidates are welcome; note that a reduced rate applies for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ENPC certification
• Trauma nursing experience
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
