Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer - Temecula, CA

Overview of the Position Provide engineering design, build, troubleshoot, repair, and / or modify an array of specialized test systems and fixtures, and assembly and inspection tooling from schematics and/or written instructions (specific or inferred). The Mechanical Engineer has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop mechanical design and drafting skills, including basic machining knowledge as applicable; be the key focus and provide expertise on new product introduction. Develop electromechanical skills to include understanding and use of switches and sensors, application and measurement of mechanical load and position. Complete appropriate test documentation and certify test results. Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic equipment and techniques. Other duties may also be assigned. Willingness to put in extra effort and hours as needed. Computer skills: Proficient in typical MRP system software, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field from a four‑year college or university, and 2‑3 years of working experience in the aerospace industry. Aviation component repair or manufacturing experience is a plus. Familiarity with the standard Microsoft Office suite. Ability to generate and update CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks and/or Inventor programs. NI / LabVIEW experience, electrical aptitude, military, and aerospace industry experience are all a plus. Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; and apply mathematical concepts related to engineering principles needed to perform job requirements. Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands and Work Environment Frequently required to talk or listen. Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
