Principal Engineer, Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL)

Position: Flight Control Surface Design Engineer (Onsite) Location: Tucson, AZ (8100 E Hermans Rd, Bldg 801) Job Summary: Develop and deliver a new flight control surface for the Naval Power Product Line, managing design, qualification, test integration, and factory optimization. Requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance. What You Will Do Lead and manage execution of hardware design from critical design phase through production. Work with multi‑disciplinary groups to define requirements, statements of work, and verification plans. Collaborate with Systems, Software, Test Equipment, and Production Test teams to deliver hardware. Interface with Program Manager and Chief Engineer to ensure schedules, budgets, and resource requirements are met. Oversee final design, development, and systems integration activities in production facilities to support transition to production (TTP). Manage risk, mitigation strategies, and resolution of technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to foster a collaborative, high‑performing team. Act as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, communicating status, risks, and opportunities. Support proposal development and planning for future projects related to production contracts. Attend Change Control Boards (CCBs) and approve system changes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). Minimum 8 years of relevant experience. Experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing complex projects. Experience working with multi‑disciplinary groups for complete system delivery. Experience with Windows and Microsoft products for scheduling and budget tracking. Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification. Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance (required before start). U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with prime hardware design. Knowledge of equipment rack assembly, cable assembly/installation, and electronics maintenance. Experience guiding teams through troubleshooting processes. Familiarity with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Doors or Agile development methodologies. Benefits Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
