Job Summary Cooks at Malibu Jack's are friendly, upbeat individuals with a desire to provide high quality food products, safely and efficiently. This role is responsible for ensuring that all menu items are prepared accurately, working with the team to manage low ticket times and uncompromising food quality, practicing safe food handling, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and working under pressure. Cooks report to the Kitchen Manager Qualifications Kitchen experience preferred but not required. Exemplifies the company’s core values. Ensures optimum guest experience. Hold staff accountable for quality, consistency, and upkeep of sanitization standards as set forth by company and state regulations. Practices an ownership mentality with an emphasis in motivation and teamwork. Maintains highest levels of quality & presentation. Accurately portions all orders to ensure low food cost. Safety Ensures areas are free from hazards that would potentially injure staff or guests. Addresses and immediately corrects any practices that lower safety standards. Education and/or Experience Kitchen experience preferred, but not required. Ability and willingness to eventually learn all stations on the line. Understands and can operate the POS system. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Mathematical Skills Basic Mathematics Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, or stand on their feet for an extended period of time, bend and twist their body, and may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs. Additional Requirements Position requires consistent activity, such as walking, bending and lifting. Must be able to work holidays and weekends. Employment may require background check.
