CT Technologist

The CT Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images. These images must meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as image quality. Applies professional knowledge to prepare patients for procedures. Educates patients and responds to their questions or concerns. Ensures age-appropriate communication and addresses safety needs. Demonstrates principles of physical and functional growth and development. Understands patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, and infection control. Applies quality control techniques effectively. Oversees and trains students in providing patient care and services during their training. Verifies the ordered exam and appropriateness utilizing assessment data and growth principles. Administers contrast as directed. Positions patients and equipment to achieve optimal images. Utilizes imaging and computer equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Works with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed. Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize exposure to patients and staff. Prepares patients for procedures and ensures effective patient education.
