Lead Teacher

Job Title Lead Teacher Essential Job Functions Supervises and monitors children at all times; respondsappropriately to crisis or emergency situations that may occur Uses a curriculum framework and curriculum tools that provideopportunities for each child to meet learning expectations thatprepare children for success in school Develops and implements age-appropriate lesson plans andcurriculum Establishes a daily routine that included time for small andlarge group activities, encourages creative expression, andincorporates health and nutrition development, as part of a dailyactivities Creates a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learningenvironment Assesses student progress and modifying instruction to meetindividual needs Collaborates with other teaches, staff members, and families tosupport student learning and well-being Maintains accurate records of student's attendance, progress,and behavior Fosters positive relationship with students, families, and thecommunity Models appropriate and respectful behavior to the children andfellow staff Supports children's social and emotional development throughpositive child guidance approaches and the development of positiverelationships in the classroom. Has parent conferences with each child's parent(s) to partnerin learning goals, develops coordinated learning supportstrategies, and involves the parent(s) in the child's preschoolexperience Establishes and maintains confidential, accurate and timelyinformation on each child's development and programparticipation Incorporates parenting training and parent leadership inprogram activities Provides helpful feedback to parents and guardians on a regularor as-needed basis Uses video communication systems and classroom video recordingsfor inter-site communication, professional development Participates in annual program self-assessment and useinformation in ongoing program improvement Other related duties, as assigned Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or relateddiscipline. Bachelor Preferred Minimum Experience Three (3) years’ experience as a childcare/daycare teacher Licenses/Certifications Eligible for Child Development Director Permit First Aid/CPR (may be obtained after employment) Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge of theories, practices, and current trends in thefield of Early Childhood Education Knowledge of Early Childhood Education State and NationalStandards Knowledge of Mississippi Regulations Governing Licensing forChild Care Facilities Knowledge of social, emotional, and creative needs of youngchildren Emotional maturity Creativity and innovation Flexibility in receiving assignments and adapting to programchanges Demonstration of patience, compassion, attitude, anddisposition toward working with children and their families Passion for the care, safety, and development of children #J-18808-Ljbffr The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc.
