Role Overview

As an Overhead Crane Service Technician, you will handle the maintenance, repair, and safety inspection of overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, and jib cranes. You will play a vital, hands-on role in keeping critical manufacturing operations running smoothly through expert troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and emergency mechanical/electrical maintenance on overhead cranes.
• Conduct safety inspections and load testing procedures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical systems and mechanical components using modern diagnostic tools.
• Support equipment setup, upgrades, and new installations.
• Work independently on-site at major manufacturing and defense contractor facilities.
• Maintain clear service records and uphold strict compliance with OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensing: Valid Journeyman or Master Electrical License (Rhode Island required for RI facility; Maine or transferable state license for ME roles).
• Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repairs.
• Comfort with Heights: Ability and willingness to work at elevated heights using boom lifts, scaffolding, and platforms in industrial plant settings.
• Security & Clearances: Must possess a clean driving record and pass a background check (required for work at defense contractor sites).
• Key Skills: Strong proficiency with electrical schematics, diagnostic tools, and OSHA regulations. Excellent problem-solving and self-management capabilities.
