Evercore ISI seeks to hire a Research Associate for its Global Chemicals equity research franchise in New York, NY. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly motivated, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong analytical and writing skills, a rigorous approach to financial research, and an interest in using emerging AI tools to improve the quality and efficiency of the research process. Primary Responsibilities Financial Analysis & Modeling : Perform quantitative financial analysis; develop and maintain company/sector models and forecasts; analyze financial disclosures, operating performance, and key earnings drivers. Research & Idea Generation : Execute proprietary research designed to generate differentiated investment insights and impactful stock calls; develop deep understanding of industry drivers, competitive dynamics, and the broader chemicals value chain; increasing independent investment thinking and idea generation. Written Research & Research Product : Author high-quality, publishable research under tight deadlines; translate analysis into clear investment conclusions; and build thoughtful tables, charts, and analytical outputs that strengthen the research product. AI-Enabled Research Process Improvement : Leverage emerging AI tools to improve the productivity and quality of research; develop, streamline, and automate AI-enabled workflows into a rigorous research process; and identify new applications for AI across data analysis, information gathering, and modeling. Candidate Qualifications Analytical & Technical Skills : Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities; the ability to integrate traditional financial analysis with emerging AI tools; statistics, data analysis, and/or Python skills a plus. Writing & Communication : Superior writing skills when producing publishable research under deadlines; ability to synthesize large amounts of information and communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely. Curiosity & Independent Thinking : Intellectually curious, with a strong desire to understand how businesses and industries work; independent thinker who is comfortable developing and expressing a point of view. Work Style : Strong work ethic, including willingness to work extended hours and weekends when required; detail-oriented and resourceful; able to work independently, prioritize effectively, incorporate constructive feedback, and continuously improve. Experience : 1-3 years of equity research, investment banking, or industry experience preferred; chemicals or materials knowledge a plus, but not required; passion for understanding businesses, industries, equities, and financial markets. Education & Credentials : Strong academic background with coursework in finance, accounting, economics, or chemistry preferred; CFA or progress toward the CFA helpful, but not required. Expected Base Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 In addition to a competitive base salary, employees may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus delivered in the form of cash and/or deferred equity.
