Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery RN is responsible for providing specialized obstetric care to mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth process. This role involves supporting both prenatal and postpartum patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care to women in labor, during delivery, and postpartum within a 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit.
• Monitor fetal well-being and maternal status, promptly addressing any complications.
• Administer medications and clinical treatments per prescribed protocols, including medications via Omnicell system.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team using SBAR and other standard protocols.
• Follow all safety procedures, including neonatal and maternal emergency protocols, and ensure proper documentation in clinical systems.
• Assist with special procedures and admit patients, providing education and emotional support to families.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• Must have at least 2 years of labor and delivery experience, including neonatal and obstetric patient care.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NRP are required; AWHONN Basic is required, with Advanced and Intermediate preferred.
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is preferred.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively overnight shifts (19:00-07:00).
