RN Position in PediatricsRN position in Pediatrics. Facility has 885 licensed beds and holds a Level 1 Trauma Designation. The unit has 16 beds and averages 14-32 patients per day. Patient types include leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and general adolescent medicine. Patient ratios for pediatric adolescent medicine are 1:4-5 for RNs and 1:6-16 for CNAs. Support within the department includes CNA for vital signs, ADLs, safety rounding, and I&Os. Receptionist and Charge Nurse will also be available. Phlebotomy and IV/VAT Team are available for difficult peripheral access. Resource Nurse support varies, with RT and Clientist available 24/7. Intensivist and bedside telemetry monitoring are also present. The technology and equipment used includes EMR, IV pumps, and unit-specific monitoring equipment. Floating will occur routinely between pediatric units, excluding the emergency department. The unit culture is team-oriented, supportive, and family-centered, with a high emphasis on professional growth, education, and safety. Weekend rotations are every other week, with 75% of holidays expected to be worked.
