Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PLC Technician to support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, programming, and optimizing PLCs and industrial automation systems to ensure maximum equipment reliability and production efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with industrial electrical systems, Rockwell Automation platforms, VFDs, and high-speed manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical and automation systems.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC systems, primarily Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation platforms.
• Support and maintain HMIs, PLC I/O, VFDs, sensors, transmitters, and communication networks.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues to minimize downtime.
• Install, program, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Support industrial communication systems including Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, RS485, and related networks.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and pass-down logs.
• Follow all safety procedures and comply with LOTO, Arc Flash, and electrical safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance or PLC technician roles.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and automation systems.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation software including:
• • RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000
  • RSLogix 500
  • FactoryTalk View Studio
• Experience installing and troubleshooting VFDs.
• Strong understanding of:
• • 3-phase electrical systems
  • Motor controls and diagnostics
  • Industrial communication networks
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery and elevated noise levels.
• Must be able to wear required PPE and safety equipment.
