About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 10:30 AM - 9:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN License in the state Certifications: BLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: 2 years of Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Experience. Teaching hospital experience will be considered. Scrub and OR Circulator experience. Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational mission and values. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice and applicable regulations. Demonstrated skill in human relations and communications is required. Must have demonstrated clinical expertise in their area of responsibility. Working conditions require standing and walking most of the time on duty. Lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. Usually works in a clean, air-conditioned area. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally.
