Design Senior Project Manager (Transportation)

INTECSA GROUP is seeking an experienced Design Senior Project Manager in Transportation Engineering to serve as the Engineer of Record (EOR) for our growing Georgia operations. This strategic leadership position will play a key role in establishing and expanding our transportation engineering practice throughout Georgia and the Southeast. The ideal candidate will have 10–15+ years of transportation engineering experience , with a background as a Project Manager at a consulting engineering firm or Design Manager for a transportation contractor , and a strong understanding of Georgia transportation projects, design standards, and client relationships. Key Responsibilities Serve as the Engineer of Record for transportation projects in Georgia. Lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway, highway, interchange, bridge, and transportation infrastructure projects. Manage multidisciplinary design teams and coordinate with clients, agencies, and contractors. Ensure compliance with GDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and applicable local standards. Provide technical oversight, quality control, and design reviews. Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client meetings, and strategic growth initiatives. Develop and maintain relationships with public agencies, municipalities, contractors, and industry partners. Assist in recruiting and mentoring engineering staff as the Georgia office expands. Participate in project budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia and other states will be a PLUS. 10–15+ years of progressive transportation engineering experience Experience serving as a Project Manager, Design Manager, or Lead Engineer on transportation infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of GDOT design standards, procedures, and project delivery requirements. Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills. Ability to support business development and help establish a growing regional practice. Preferred Qualifications Existing relationships with GDOT, local agencies, municipalities, and transportation contractors throughout Georgia. Experience with Design-Build and alternative project delivery methods. Previous experience serving as Engineer of Record. Experience leading roadway, highway, transit, bridge, or major infrastructure projects. Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
