The Patient Access Representative I (PAR I) is primarily responsible for scheduling ultrasound and X-ray appointments. This role provides courteous and professional assistance to patients and physician offices during the scheduling and registration process for diagnostic imaging procedures. Key responsibilities include gathering and verifying accurate demographic, insurance, and billing information; scheduling appointments; entering imaging orders; and ensuring all related tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner. PAR I plays a critical role in supporting a positive patient experience and ensuring seamless coordination between patients, families, and healthcare providers.Location: Atlanta, GA / Remote Flexible work schedule and work from home eligibility based on performance and business needsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Champion the Lumexa Way in daily activitiesEnsures accuracy of patient data entered into the electronic medical record systemSchedules and confirms ultrasound (US) and X-ray (XR) appointments Enters all appointment dates and times into the computerized scheduling system.Employees hired before October 2025 may still be required to enter orders for all imaging modalities if needed.Employees hired before October 2025 may still be required to schedule appointments for all imaging modalities, if needed.Communicates to patient or patient representative any financial responsibilityExplains exams/procedures, preparation instructions and location directions to patients and provider office staffActs as a liaison for center operations and centralized authorizations department (i.e., CAD, etc.) as a supportive partner for centralized servicesContacts referring provider offices to obtain exam orders if necessaryHandles patient and provider calls (inbound and outbound) via telephone softphone application in a courteous and helpful manner.Calmly handles patient experience and customer service issues, escalating to leadership when appropriateOther duties as assigned per business needMinimum Qualifications:Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent1-3+ years related health care scheduling for multiple locations, medical terminology, physician billing and/or medical reception/medical office experience preferred.Call center or phone experience preferred.Previous customer service background required.Experience working with a computerized scheduling system preferred.Bilingual preferredKnowledge and Skills:Ability to meet and/or exceed performance metricsKnowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocolsKnowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelinesKnowledge of basic level computer skillsSkill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completionSkill in written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlinesAbility to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant changeAbility to effectively handle details with accuracyAbility to maintain regular attendance and on-time approval to work as scheduledAbility to deliver high quality customer service to internal and external customers by communicating with integrity and compassionAbility to resolve service recovery issues and understand when to escalate to the next levelAbility to remain calm in difficult situationsRequirements to advance from PAR 1 to PAR 2:Completed and passed the training competency checkCompleted and passed the Supervisor-led knowledge assessmentConsistently meets Tier 2 performance metrics (CSAT over 90% and AHT under 5 minutes)Not on a Final Written Warning or PIPComfortable with scheduling/entering Arthrogram/Barium Swallow appointmentsExperts in scheduling all imaging modalitiesLumexa Imaging provides a competitive compensation program to attract, retain, and motivate a high-performance workforce.Lumexa Imaging is an equal opportunity employer.
