Director of Financial Reporting

Work Location: Remote - Southern California residency required. Periodic in-person collaboration may be required in Long Beach or Camarillo, with occasional travel to other Company locations as needed. Overview Glass House Brands Inc. ("GHBI") is seeking a highly technical, hands-on Director of Financial Reporting to lead core external reporting and technical accounting activities for an NYSE-listed public company operating in a highly regulated and evolving industry. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Financial Reporting, this senior individual contributor will own critical work product and partner closely with the CFO, SVP Corporate Controller, Legal, Investor Relations, Internal Audit, external auditors, valuation specialists, and U.S. and Canadian securities counsel. This role offers broad exposure to public-company reporting, complex transactions, capital markets activity, valuation, governance, and internal controls. We welcome candidates with strong public-company financial reporting and technical accounting backgrounds from complex, regulated, multi-entity, manufacturing, consumer products, or similar environments. Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Public Company Reporting Own the preparation and review of consolidated U.S. GAAP financial statements, footnotes, disclosures, and related supporting schedules. Lead annual and interim external reporting, including SEC and Canadian continuous disclosure requirements, and coordinate timely filing execution. Own financial statement and disclosure production in Workiva, including Inline XBRL review. Maintain quarterly and annual disclosure checklists and ensure consistency across the financial statements, MD&A, and related public-company reporting. Serve as a primary contact for external auditors on financial reporting and technical accounting matters; coordinate requests and drive comments to resolution. Support the design, documentation, and operating effectiveness of financial reporting and technical accounting controls, including SOX compliance and readiness activities, in partnership with Internal Audit and external auditors Improve the close and reporting calendar by moving technical conclusions and key supporting analyses earlier in the cycle and reducing late-stage rework. Technical Accounting & Strategic Support Lead technical accounting research and draft clear, audit-ready memoranda for significant, complex, or non-routine transactions; establish and maintain related accounting policies. Lead or support accounting analyses involving consolidation and VIEs, deconsolidations, equity-method investments and related basis differences, discontinued operations, fair value and impairment, complex debt and equity instruments, warrants, and other significant transactions. Monitor and evaluate new FASB, SEC, and Canadian regulatory developments, including changes in the Company’s filer or reporting status; assess impact, plan implementation, and draft related disclosures or policy updates. Partner with valuation specialists and internal teams to reconcile valuation inputs and conclusions to the accounting records and related disclosures. Advise Controllership, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Investor Relations on accounting and disclosure implications of contemplated transactions, financing activity, and other significant matters before execution. Directly support the Vice President of Financial Reporting on quarterly and year-end planning, capital markets and financing matters, and other strategic initiatives that affect accounting or disclosure. Coordinate cross-functional workstreams and external advisors to keep accounting, legal, valuation, tax, and disclosure conclusions aligned and delivered on schedule. Qualifications Professional Experience, Education and Certifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Southern California residency required, with the ability to travel to Long Beach or Camarillo for periodic in-person collaboration. U.S. CPA license required. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial public-company SEC reporting experience and direct ownership of U.S. GAAP financial statements and disclosures. Working knowledge of SOX and ICFR requirements and experience supporting financial reporting controls in a public-company environment; SOX 404(b) experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to independently research, document, and defend complex accounting conclusions that withstand external-auditor and senior-reviewer scrutiny. Strong technical writing, project management, and executive communication skills. Hands-on experience with disclosure-management and Inline XBRL tools; Workiva and SAP experience preferred. Big 4 public accounting experience in audit and/or technical accounting advisory preferred. Experience with Canadian public-company reporting, foreign private issuer/MJDS reporting, valuation coordination, or complex regulated and multi-entity businesses is preferred.
