Exciting Opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist!

Job Description:
- Join a dedicated team serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977!
- Work in a dynamic 122-bed acute care facility surrounded by beautiful landscapes and near stunning beaches.
- Engage in basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients with respiratory diseases.
- Collaborate with a supportive team while maintaining oversight over others as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and document prescribed therapy for patients receiving respiratory care services.
- Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy, keeping accurate charts.
- Perform arterial blood gas draws per policy and physician orders.
- Provide specialized care to ventilator patients.
- Assist with department record-keeping and operations.
- Participate in training and supervising new employees.
- Maintain records of treatments and generate necessary documentation for charges.
- Educate nursing personnel on patient surveillance and equipment operation.
- Perform drainage procedures and provide additional patient care for cardio-respiratory diseases.
- Offer suggestions regarding patient treatment and pulmonary progress.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential is preferred.
- Required Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy is required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required at time of hire or within 90 days.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required at time of hire or within 90 days.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required at time of hire or within 90 days.
- At least two years of recent experience in the field, including NICU and Pediatric experience.
- Ability to intubate is essential.

Schedule:
- Night Shift: 3 x 12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Rotating Weekends.
