Founding Software Engineer – AI Platform Our client is an early‑stage startup building a scalable, AI‑powered platform to revolutionize procurement. As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you’ll join the founding engineering team, working closely with AI/ML experts to deliver innovative features and shape the technical roadmap. Location: NYC (Hybrid – at least 3 days onsite/week) Visa Sponsorship: We offer sponsorship under specific treaty‑based U.S. work visas, including TN (for eligible Canadian and Mexican citizens). We do not support or transfer other visa types (e.g., H‑1B). Role and responsibilities Design, build, and scale core platform features across front‑end (React/TypeScript) and back‑end (NestJS/Node.js). Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure including containers, databases, networking, and monitoring. Integrate AI/LLM‑powered services, APIs, and data pipelines into production‑ready applications. Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to connect models with scalable workflows. Lead technical discussions, contribute to system architecture, and drive best practices. Ensure high‑quality code through reviews, testing, and engineering standards. Mentor junior engineers and help shape team culture and processes. Influence product roadmap, making scalability and build‑vs‑buy trade‑offs. Qualifications Must have: 6+ years of full‑stack engineering experience. Startup experience mandatory. Strong back‑end expertise with Node.js/NestJS, RESTful APIs, and async flows. Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL or similar databases. Proven ability to manage and scale AWS infrastructure. Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into production systems. Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation). Experience leading projects or mentoring engineers. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice to have Experience in fast‑paced startup environments. Prior work with data pipelines or MLOps. Contributions to open‑source or tech communities. Benefits The salary range for this role is US$120,000 - US$140,000. 401(k) retirement plan with company matching. 15 days of paid vacation per year at hire and up to 27 according to seniority (annual untaken vacation days are cashed out). 8 paid holidays + 5 sick days + 2 personal days per year.
