Tax Intern

A Typical Day in the Life: As a tax intern, you will work alongside Honkamp team members by applying the skills learned in the classroom to real-world, business-impacting projects and provide tax proficiency to your assigned section. Responsibilities may include: Effectively document work. Prep level 3 and 4 returns. Develop an understanding of tax process, becoming efficient in scan/assembly/verification procedures. Develop an understanding of basic income tax returns and various tax extensions and deadlines. Assisting with data entry and maintaining tax-related records. Assist in administrative functions. Become familiar with various scan, tax, workflow, verification, and other software. Act as an ambassador to the universities. Qualifications: No prior experience or training required -- candidates should be pursuing a degree in an accounting-related field. Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365. Experience with, or ability to learn, the operation of basic office equipment. Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication and problem-solving. Prolonged periods of working on a computer and ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (e.g. sitting at a desk). Ability to work in a shared office environment with moderate noise levels.
