Location: Chattanooga, TN

Employment Type: Full-Time (4-Day Workweek)

Position Overview

An established pediatric dental practice in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join a busy and well-organized clinical team.

This role is ideal for an EFDA who is confident in their clinical skills, enjoys working with children, and values being part of a team that prioritizes efficiency, structure, and a positive patient experience. You’ll play an important role in supporting providers and helping maintain a smooth and productive clinical schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support

• Perform expanded functions duties in accordance with state regulations
• Assist dentists during pediatric procedures and restorative treatments
• Prepare and break down operatories efficiently between patients
• Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols

Patient Care

• Help create a positive and comfortable experience for children and families
• Communicate clearly with patients and parents throughout visits
• Support patient education and reinforce preventive care

Clinical Workflow

• Support an efficient clinical schedule and patient flow
• Ensure operatories are fully prepared for procedures
• Work closely with providers and team members to maintain a smooth daily rhythm

Qualifications

• EFDA certification (required)
• Previous experience in a dental practice (pediatric experience preferred)
• Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with both children and parents
