Job Overview A law firm seeks a patent agent in Raleigh, North Carolina, with over two years of experience in computer science or electrical engineering. This flexible location role involves collaborating with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications for emerging technologies. Duties Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors. Perform novelty and clearance searches to distinguish inventions from current art. Draft comprehensive patent applications. Negotiate the scope of rights with the Patent Office. Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management. Requirements 2+ years of experience in computer science or electrical engineering. Strong technical skills and excellent writing abilities. Exceptional attention to technical detail. Effective communication and organizational skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Education Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics. Certifications CertificationsSkillsTechnical experience in data science, machine learning, AI, IoT, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, or optics is a plus.
