Travel RN Details Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare jobs) Facility Type: Tertiary Care Hospital, Complex Care Unit Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/4/2025 – End: 2/3/2026) Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020–$2080 Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics Scrub Color: Navy bottoms, navy or white tops Charting System: Epic Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Floating: Required to Med/Surg units Registered Nurse Qualifications Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand (no exceptions) Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience Previous charge nurse experience required Travel nursing experience required BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred) Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 Must be able to float to other Med/Surg units as needed Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to complex medicine, ortho overflow, and long-term patients Monitor telemetry and respond to rapid response/code teams Manage pacemakers (temporary/permanent), feeding tubes, blood product administration, and central/PICC/peripheral lines Perform phlebotomy, initiate IVs, and follow heparin protocols Care for ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and surgical drains Utilize high flow nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable oxygen tanks, and manage tracheostomies Implement isolation precautions and provide wound care, including wound vac management Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV, PT, RT, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and more Float to other Med/Surg units as required Take the next step in your nursing career with this Med/Surg Tele travel RN job in Rochester, NY.
