Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) Experience: Two years of acute care RN experience required License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM Must-Have: - Patient assessment - Plan of care development - Plan of care implementation - Plan of care evaluation - Patient and family education Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The RN focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care using the caring processes of a recognized Model of Care. The RN prioritizes patient and family comforts and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring staff. The RN performs assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient condition. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services in developing and implementing plans of care. The RN monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. The RN facilitates, coordinates, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. The RN delegates tasks to staff and participates in quality and safety improvement efforts. The RN promotes a safe and clean hospital environment for all. The RN recognizes complex data to determine priorities for care. The RN synthesizes assessment data to communicate effectively with others. The RN collaborates with patients and families in preparing or updating care plans. The RN identifies cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care. The RN demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems. The RN engages with literature relevant to practice and discusses applicability with staff.
