Summary:
The Barista at Sweetbay Coffee inside of Hotel Effie is responsible for crafting exceptional coffee and tea beverages while delivering outstanding customer service. The role requires a passion for coffee, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a barista, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized work environment, taking customer orders, preparing drinks, and managing daily inventory. Seasonal position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, and teas.
• Provide exceptional guest service by taking orders, answering questions, and making drink recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, equipment, and work areas.
• Stock and maintain inventory of coffee supplies and ingredients.
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to process payments accurately.
• Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring all health standards are met.
• Work as part of a team to deliver consistent service during peak hours and special events.
• Assist in opening and closing duties as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of coffee equipment and supplies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Must be able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions including pouring, steaming, and mixing drinks.

Qualifications:

• Previous barista or coffee shop experience preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
• A passion for coffee and a desire to create memorable guest experiences.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
