MEP Estimator

DACK Consulting Solutions is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator to support commercial construction projects throughout New York City. This position will prepare estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire-protection scopes from conceptual design through GMP and hard-bid phases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare MEP quantity takeoffs, budgets, cost plans, GMP estimates, and hard-bid pricing.
• Review drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and bid documents.
• Identify scope gaps, coordination concerns, cost risks, and exclusions.
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Research current labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop value-engineering and cost-reduction recommendations.
• Present estimate summaries, assumptions, and risks to leadership.
• Support change-order pricing and project turnover.
• Manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or technical degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Three or more years of commercial MEP estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, controls, and fire-protection systems.
• Ability to interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Excel, or similar software.
• NYC construction experience and local subcontractor relationships are preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Work Environment

• Full-time, 100% in-office.
• White Plains, New York.
