This role helps lead a small team of engineers while remaining hands-on in value engineering work. The position is accountable for planning, prioritizing, and delivering measurable cost-reduction initiatives across machine platforms.**What You’ll Do*** Lead and prioritize value engineering initiatives across multiple machine platforms* Analyze machine architectures for standardization, simplification, and reuse opportunities* Drive modularity and platform thinking across mechanical and electro-mechanical systems* Provide technical leadership and direction to other engineers* Own project planning, execution, and reporting of cost-reduction initiatives* Perform system-level design trade studies balancing cost, performance, reliability, and serviceability* Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Manufacturing, Service, Quality, and Supply Chain* Review and approve engineering changes and ensure proper ECO/ECN execution* Mentor engineers in design-to-cost, DFM/DFA, and value engineering methodologies**What You’ll Bring*** BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field* 10+ years of experience in mechanical design and sustaining engineering* Demonstrated leadership experience in technical or project-based roles* Proven track record of delivering measurable BOM and lifecycle cost reductions* Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills* Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD and engineering change processes**Nice to Have*** Exposure to electrical systems, sensors, PLCs, and general industrial controls* Experience working directly with suppliers and contract manufacturers* Background in modular product platforms or configurable machine systems* Hands-on prototyping and machine build experience**A Few Other Things**Up to 15% travel as needed.**What We Offer**Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate's prior work experience, education/training, and any special skills.If this role excites you but you don’t meet each requirement listed, we encourage you to apply anyway.
