Principal Environmental Geologist or Engineer (Irvine, CA) [PRIN-G] Job Description: Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental Consultants has an immediate opening for a Principal-level Environmental Geologist or Civil Engineer for our Irvine, CA office. The successful candidate will act as the Irvine Division’s technical lead and be instrumental in helping grow Ninyo & Moore’s Environmental consulting business. This position is for a candidate who enjoys performing both business development and technical consulting activities. We are looking for a professional who has a strong technical reputation in the field, enjoys and is great at promoting that reputation and the company behind it, and wants to be rewarded with an excellent compensation package. Education: BS Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, or equivalent. California Civil PE or PG. Required Skills: The successful candidate should be a results-driven and self-motivated CA licensed professional geologist or engineer (PE or PG) with 15+ years of experience preferably with an environmental engineering services consulting firm performing the duties described above. Candidate should have NEPA/CEQA & EIR experience and strong relationships with state and local regulatory agencies, expertise in Regulatory Compliance, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Environmental Remediation, Emergency Construction Support for Contaminated Sites, Environmental issues (air, waste water, hazardous waste), attending shortlist/interview presentations for major environmental clients, and be able to perform as an Expert Witness. Preferred skills: Candidate should have senior management level presentation and negotiation skills, business development and client services focus. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, and problem solving skills are a must. Must be able to act as the client manager for key clients or services areas, having a high profile through membership associations and a strong environmental network in Southern California. Must be a strong technical reviewer, able to mentor junior technical personnel and able to plan and implement projects. Basic computer skills, with experience in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
