Travel RN – Observation Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 72 Hours Per Pay Period | Must be available to work weekends and holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed Observation Unit serving adult patients (18+ years) meeting observation status criteria, including chest pain, TIA, asthma exacerbation, DVT/PE, cellulitis, post-procedural monitoring, and related diagnoses
• Monitor patients using cardiac monitoring equipment and document care using Cerner EHR
• Maintain a patient ratio of approximately 1:5 with no formally defined ratios
• Float as needed to Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro-Ortho units
• Adhere to facility attendance and professional conduct standards, including making up any missed shifts to maintain contracted hours

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale Competency
• Telemetry/ECG Competency
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
• TNCC or ENPC certification (optional but valued)
• Experience with observation-status patient populations
