Radiology Technologist

Job Summary Perform diagnostic imaging examinations on patients, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic images and delivering excellent patient care and education before, during, and after procedures. Work Schedule and Compensation Shift: Varies (United States). Scheduled weekly hours: 36. Salary range: $29.50 – $41.50 per hour, with up to a $30,000 sign‑on bonus available. Responsibilities Ensure accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures and conduct image operations according to provider requests and technical factors. Implement radiation safety guidelines and perform proper radiation protection practices during imaging. Deliver excellent patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures. Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks, including mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual‑energy X‑ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures. May perform occupational medicine duties such as routing testing, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, and other technical services. Work on-call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the facility. Qualifications Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is mandatory. Must possess knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, positioning, film/image processing, quality control, and radiation protection. Registration with the ARRT is required. Licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required for North Dakota imaging or radiation therapy procedures. Must obtain ARRT certification within 60 days of hire if working in South Dakota. In Iowa, must hold a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health. May be required to obtain a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification within the first eight weeks at certain clinic locations. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re‑certification as needed. Driver's license may be required depending on the department.
