Senior Scientist, Oligo Chemistry

Senior Scientist position at IDT focused on developing and optimizing oligonucleotide synthesis processes. The role requires deep expertise in phosphoramidite chemistry and analytical characterization to advance core technology platforms and support high-quality oligo production.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute oligonucleotide synthesis workflows with focus on phosphoramidite chemistry and solid-phase methods
• Apply organic chemistry principles to improve synthesis efficiency, yield, and product quality
• Develop and optimize post-synthesis process steps using LC-MS and complementary analytical techniques
• Evaluate and implement new reagents, chemistries, or process improvements for oligo synthesis platforms

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, or related field; M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
• Minimum 5+ years hands-on laboratory experience in oligonucleotide synthesis or related chemistry
• Strong practical expertise in phosphoramidite chemistry and solid-phase oligo synthesis
• Demonstrated proficiency with LC-MS (high-resolution preferred) for oligo characterization
• Proven experience optimizing synthesis and downstream processing steps including cleavage and purification

Compensation: $135,000-$160,000 base, eligible for bonus/incentive pay
