We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and organized Receiver to support our commissary and catering operations. The ideal candidate will ensure all incoming deliveries are properly inspected, documented, and stored according to company standards. This individual takes pride in maintaining accurate inventory, upholding food safety standards, and contributing to a well-organized and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting and works collaboratively with Purchasing, Culinary, and Operations teams to ensure seamless daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inspection

• Verify all deliveries against purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy in quantity, product type, and condition.
• Inspect fresh produce, meats, fish, and other perishable items to ensure quality and food safety standards are met.
• Report and document discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly to the Purchasing Manager.

Inventory & Storage

• Pack, unpack, label, and organize incoming shipments in designated storage areas, including dry storage, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Rotate stock using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
• Maintain accurate receiving records and assist with inventory counts and audits.
• Assist in transporting products and supplies to designated kitchen and storage areas.

Organization, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary receiving and storage areas in compliance with Department of Health and OSHA standards.
• Dispose of packaging materials, pallets, and boxes safely and properly.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Culinary, and Operations teams to support efficient workflow.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support commissary and kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in receiving, warehouse, or stock operations required.
• Food service, catering, or commissary receiving experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling and Department of Health regulations is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures.
• Familiarity with inventory systems or receiving software is a plus.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in cold storage environments, including refrigerators and freezers.

Base salary: $19.00/hour
