Description JOB TITLE: Community Living Clinical Director – Licensed Behavior Analyst (BCBA/LBA) DIVISION: Community Living REPORTS TO : VP of Clinical Services

EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, oversight, and performance of all clinical services within the Community Living division. This role ensures that services are clinically sound, operationally integrated, data-driven, and aligned with BHA’s core values and regulatory requirements. The Clinical Director is accountable for the quality, consistency, and outcomes of clinical programming, including the implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), Individual Support Plans (ISPs), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based interventions across all residential settings. This role operates as both a clinical leader and operational partner, working in close collaboration with operations, nursing, and executive leadership to ensure that individuals served receive safe, effective, and meaningful supports that improve quality of life. The Clinical Director is responsible for building and maintaining a high-performing clinical team, ensuring fidelity of implementation, and driving continuous improvement through data, training, and accountability systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in ABA, Psychology, Special Education, or related field
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker required
• Active state licensure (MO and/or KS as applicable)
• Minimum 5 years ABA experience, with at least 3 years in leadership
• Experience in residential or intensive behavioral settings preferred
• Completion of BACB 8-hour supervision training

• Oversees behavior support strategies that are ethical, trauma-informed, and least restrictive

• Oversees development and implementation of BSPs and ISPs with a focus on quality of life outcomes

• Ensures consistent implementation of clinical programming across all homes

CLINICAL OPERATIONS & OVERSIGHT

• Oversee development, implementation, and monitoring of all BSPs, ISPs, and clinical programming
• Ensure fidelity of ABA-based interventions across all homes
• Monitor clinical outcomes and adjust programming based on data
• Review and approve assessments, treatment plans, and documentation
• Lead response and review of clinical incidents and behavioral escalations
• Participate in on-call rotation for crisis support

QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE

• Develop and implement clinical quality assurance systems
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
• Monitor key clinical performance indicators and outcomes
• Identify trends and implement corrective actions
• Ensure readiness for audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews

STAFF DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

• Supervise and mentor clinical team members
• Ensure supervision requirements (BACB/licensure) are met
• Develop and implement training programs for clinical and direct care staff
• Evaluate staff performance and provide ongoing coaching
• Promote a culture of accountability, learning, and growth

FINANCIAL & RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

• Ensure efficient use of clinical resources and staffing
• Monitor utilization, productivity, and service delivery metrics
• Collaborate with finance and billing teams to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Support cost-effective service delivery without compromising quality

FAMILY & STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

• Serve as clinical point of contact for families and stakeholders
• Participate in intake and admission decisions
• Collaborate with external providers, agencies, and partners
• Advocate for individuals served and ensure appropriate services

On-Call & 24/7 Leadership

• Participate in on-call rotation and provide decisive leadership during crises.
• Ensure Program Managers understand escalation protocols and expectations.
• Serve as a calm, directive presence during high-pressure situations.

ACCOUNTABILITY & IMPACT

The Clinical Director is directly accountable for the quality, consistency, and outcomes of all clinical services within Community Living. This role is responsible for ensuring:

• High-quality, evidence-based clinical programming
• Fidelity of BSP and ISP implementation
• Regulatory compliance and audit readiness
• Strong clinical team performance and accountability
• Measurable improvements in client outcomes
• Effective collaboration between clinical and operations

The Clinical Director is expected to proactively identify issues, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement. Failure to meet these expectations may result in corrective action, as clinical performance directly impacts safety, compliance, and organizational risk.

OTHER DUTIES

• Participate in organizational initiatives and strategic planning
• Support development of systems, tools, and processes
• Conduct staff training, supervision, and performance evaluations as assigned.
• Participate in on-call rotations for behavioral crisis response.
• Complete all documentation, billing, and reporting requirements in accordance with BHA and regulatory guidelines
