Paramedic Emergency Department Days

Compensation: $2,500 sign‑on bonus available. Hours: 0700‑1930. Responsibilities Job Summary: The Paramedic Technician functions semi‑independently, under the direction of the Physician, RN, and/or PA‑C, as part of the integrated healthcare team. Responsible for providing comprehensive quality patient care in an accurate and timely manner according to established patient standards and practice. Provide direct patient care services under the supervision of a licensed caregiver including personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, initiation of peripheral intravenous access, phlebotomy, eye irrigation, urinary catheterization, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan. Administer medications under the supervision of licensed personnel in accordance with approved medication list. Assist with patient transport, maintain a safe environment by cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, and turning over rooms as required. Compliance with department‑specific competencies. Observe and report changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintain accurate medical record documentation. Reinforce patient education under direction of licensed personnel and ensure continuity of care. Address and direct questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members. After training, answer patch phone under direction of licensed caregiver. Perform other duties as assigned. Education High School Diploma or GED. Experience Graduate of an EMT‑P training course approved under Arizona 9 A.A.C. 25, Articles 2, 4, and 5. 1 year of experience required; Associate Degree, Diploma, or bachelor’s degree in pre‑hospital/emergency medical service preferred. License and Certifications Certified Paramedic – Certification (ADHS Paramedic Certification or Arizona State Certified) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Certification required.
