Communications Specialist Chicago, IL Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:30am–5:00pm Office-based | Permanent position Turn Information Into Clear, Effective Communication. A strong message can bring people together, help teams work more efficiently, and make complex information easier to understand. We’re looking for a Communications Specialist in Chicago, IL to develop written materials, coordinate business updates, and support communication projects across the organization. You’ll work with different departments to gather information, prepare content, organize communication schedules, and ensure messages are consistent and appropriate for their intended audience. This role is suited to someone who enjoys writing, building relationships, and managing projects where accuracy and timing matter. What You’ll Be Responsible For Draft, edit, and proofread company announcements, newsletters, emails, and business updates. Prepare presentations, briefing documents, and communication materials for internal and external audiences. Coordinate the distribution of company news and important updates. Gather information from departments and turn it into clear, accessible content. Maintain communication calendars, contact lists, and supporting documentation. Assist with communication campaigns and promotional initiatives. Review materials for accuracy, tone, clarity, and consistency with brand guidelines. Coordinate deadlines, approvals, and follow-up activities. Support content preparation for websites, social media, and other communication channels. Organize meetings, prepare notes, and track communication-related action items. Monitor routine enquiries and direct requests to the appropriate team. Maintain organized communication records and handle business information professionally. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who can communicate confidently, manage competing priorities, and produce accurate work. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent proofreading and editing ability. Good organizational and time-management skills. Comfortable using email, word-processing tools, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Ability to adapt messaging to different audiences. Attention to detail and a professional approach to business communications. Comfortable collaborating with colleagues and incorporating feedback. Previous experience in communications, marketing, public relations, content writing, administration, or related roles is beneficial.
