Speaks Law Firm is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to advocate for our clients and assist with the life cycle of assigned personal injury cases. This includes consistent, timely, and accurate completion of assigned administrative duties and maintenance of files in our case management software (CSM). This is an on-site position in our Charlotte office and hours of work are Mon-Fri 8:30-5:30. Visit speakslaw.com to learn more about us! No phone calls or recruiter emails please. The is a full-time hourly position starting at $19.00 depending on experience. Why work at Speaks Law Firm?
- Set up new claims with insurance companies
- Order background checks and copies of court records
- Assist attorneys and case managers with client files and communication as directed
- Scan and save all mail and faxes to electronic client files upon receipt
- Request client records and bills from health care providers and other sources to substantiate claims
- Maintain timely and accurate organization of electronic client files
- Update information and label documents in CSM and spreadsheets
- Assist with reception and front desk coverage as needed
- Attend weekly and biweekly meetings as directed
- Other administrative tasks assigned by case managers/attorneys
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree in business administration or related field of study preferred
- At least two (2) years of administrative experience in a law firm required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Intermediate computer skills, experience with SmartAdvocate a plus
- Understanding of legal language and principles, and other related processes
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Professional work ethic
