Technical Writer

Hybrid role: Monday, Tuesday, Thursdays onsite in either Lincolnshire, IL or Holtsville, NY. 2 days remote. As a Technical Writer, you will be part of the Knowledge Center Content Development organization which will be driving competitive advantage through learning and documentation as well as leveraging new learning technologies to deliver innovative and intuitive knowledge experiences. You will be responsible for the development of technical documentation to support enterprise products. You will also design and develop content for use in user manuals, quick start guides, installation guides, and training material that address the needs of both internal and external users. The mission is to establish best-in-class knowledge transfer and to contribute to overall customer satisfaction for users of our products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write technical content including descriptions, installation procedures, operating instructions, maintenance and troubleshooting information.
• Conduct interviews with SMEs to gather data for content. Responsible for handling multiple projects at one time in a dynamic environment.
• Coordinate, manage and control documentation and training material development projects and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing skills with the ability to clearly translate highly technical information into easily used and understandable text and illustrations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with engineering, marketing, SMEs and external team members to obtain the information necessary to carry out assignments.
• In-depth knowledge of electronic publishing including FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, RoboHelp, Photoshop, content management systems, and DITA.
