Surgical Dental Assistant—Discharge

$24 - $36 an hour Our practice, Oral Surgery Group , is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Surgical Dental Assistant—Discharge to join our team! This is a unique and exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about Oral Surgery and committed to delivering outstanding care. What You'll Do As a Surgical Dental Assistant—Discharge, you will support Oral Surgeons with various surgical procedures and play a crucial role in patient care. Discharge and continue care for patients: work closely with the surgical team to prepare patients for discharge; serve as liaison between in-patient and follow‑up care; conduct thorough assessments; monitor for complications; respond quickly in emergencies; maintain quality of care. Patient support and education: provide post‑operative instructions, answer questions, educate about oral health, maintain detailed patient records. Administrative duties: schedule appointments, coordinate with dental staff, manage patient records, update medical histories, handle billing and insurance, assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid X‑ray license required. Previous experience as a dental assistant, especially in Oral Surgery, desirable. Discharge experience highly preferred. Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments and materials. Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety measures. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, patient‑centered approach.
