About the Role:

No experience required. Monday-Friday only. 9 am -3 pm schedule. Retired, semi-retired, students, new grad and individuals interested in this opportunity are encouraged to apply.  Join LOCAL AMBASSADORS, INC., where you can make a real difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. This is a day program setting catering to active and fun loving non-behavioral clients in our facility and in the community. Clients are transported into the community in company owned vans.

Responsibilities:

• Be a positive role model; promote inclusion and advocacy for persons with developmental disabilities 
• Provide instruction, supervision and care; promote learning through fun and games 
• Inspire and support clients in achieving personal goals
• Facilitate community engagement and social interactions
• Monitor client progress and accurate maintain documentation
• Operate company vehicle safely to transport staff and clients; must be 25 years old to drive (applicants under 25 are welcome)

Requirements:

• No experience required; ability to learn
• High school diploma. Associate's degree or college coursework a plus.
• ILS, SLS, day program, care home, elder/dementia, IHSS, respite care experience a plus
• Must be able to prioritize and complete work on time, be detail oriented and demonstrate a service orientation to clients
• Strong communication skills, compassionate demeanor, and team player 
• Valid driver’s license with clean driver record, reliable transportation and ability to safely operate large Class C passenger vehicles.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Livescan clearance required (employer cost).
• Pre-employment physical and TB test required (employer cost)
• Must be able to share facility with pet therapy dog; walk the dog and provide care 
• Must be able to take direction easily, demonstrate flexibility, work well in a team environment and maintain attendance and punctuality standards.
