General Manager

Cades Cove Jeep Outpost – Townsend, Tennessee

Position Overview The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the Cades Cove Jeep Outpost retail location. This role is focused on driving sales, managing a strong team, maintaining the right inventory levels, and ensuring the store operates efficiently and profitably at all times.

This is not a sit-back role. The right person is hands-on, leads from the front, understands retail numbers, and takes ownership of the store as if it were their own.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Culture

Hire, train, schedule, and manage store staff Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable Create a positive, high-energy environment focused on customer experience Lead by example on the sales floor

Inventory & Merchandising

Keep the store fully stocked on top-selling products Monitor inventory levels to avoid overstock and dead inventory Identify trends and reorder winning items quickly Work closely with ownership/vendors to maintain product flow Ensure the store is visually clean, organized, and merchandised to sell

Financial Performance

Manage payroll to stay within target percentages of sales Balance staffing levels with traffic and seasonality Track sales performance and adjust strategy as needed Protect margins by controlling waste, shrink, and unnecessary spending

Operations

Oversee daily store operations including opening/closing procedures Ensure excellent customer service at all times Handle customer issues quickly and professionally Maintain store standards, cleanliness, and organization
