Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in a Labor and Delivery setting.
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage the clinical situation.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
• Current NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) certification or AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery or a related perinatal nursing specialty.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Completion of a Perinatal RN Residency program or recent practice in a perinatal setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex contingencies in a clinical Labor and Delivery environment.
