Lift Maintenance Manager

Job Summary The Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Lift Maintenance department. The position includes supervising staff, managing schedules, budgets, and maintenance projects. Salary and Benefits Base salary range: $84,147 - $117,806 per year. Full‑time, part‑time, and on‑call staff ski free at 14 iconic resorts. Responsibilities Ensure customers are treated courteously, safely and efficiently. Oversee the daily operation of the Lift Maintenance department. Perform supervisory duties in accordance with Palisades Tahoe policies and applicable laws. Interview, hire, train, appraise, reward, discipline, and address complaints of employees. Issue written and oral instructions; assist direct employees in performing duties and provide training as needed. Create and maintain timecards, budgets, maintenance, and staff schedules. Respond to emails and attend related meetings. Manage project and maintenance deadlines; determine work priorities and prepare work schedules. Assign duties and examine work for safety, exactness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Standardize procedures to improve efficiency of the Lift Maintenance department. Respond to customer and management complaints, providing explanations or solutions. Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience in Lift Maintenance or related field. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position. Strong leadership, customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, spreadsheets, ANSI B77 code, and legal documents. Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or community members. Ability to present information effectively to management. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form and handle abstract and concrete variables. Physical Requirements The employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 75% or more of a normal 10‑hour shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. Must also be capable of squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, balancing, climbing ladders, and shoveling snow. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions The employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions—extreme cold and heat, wetness or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storms. Noise level in the workplace is usually moderate to loud. Proper use of personal protective equipment is required. Equipment Used Telephone, computer, snowmobile/UTV/ATV/trucks, mechanical tools, ropes, skis/snowboards. Education and Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in Lift Maintenance or related field and at least 2 years in a supervisory position. Legal Notice E‑Verify participation.
