Press Assistant

Press Assistant – Nisswa, MN Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Run the Gear. Earn the Check. Every shop needs someone to run the presses and a skilled Press Assistant to keep them rolling. As a Press Assistant, you will help keep production moving by preparing printing presses, staging materials, and supporting press operators throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities Prepare printing presses for production by completing machine setup, cleanup, and changeovers. Mix inks and stage tooling, cylinders, and printing plates according to production schedules. Inspect cylinders, plates, and tooling for quality and proper fit before installation. Mount printing plates and verify correct colors, quantities, and specifications. Follow production schedules to ensure materials and equipment are ready for each job. Maintain press cleanliness and assist with minimizing equipment downtime. Communicate quality or equipment concerns to supervisors and the pre‑press team. Follow all plant safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Work overtime as needed to support production demands. Qualifications Previous experience in manufacturing, printing, production, machine operation, or press assisting preferred. Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and measuring tools, including rulers and fractions. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and troubleshoot basic production issues. Comfortable using computers and learning new manufacturing systems. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented manufacturing environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
