Clinical Social Work MSW Emergency Department Casual

Looking for someone who has willingness to work weekends and weekdays. Responsibilities Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to assist patients and families with complex psychosocial needs. Coordinate alternate sites, plan discharges, and address all forms of identified abuse/neglect, adoption, substance use disorders, end‑of‑life decisions, and behavioral health concerns (including psychiatric transfers). Provide bereavement support, adjustment counseling, and facilitate guardianships. Conduct psychosocial assessments with patients and/or families to identify needs or potential alternate post‑discharge care and create an action plan. Communicate with alternate sites of care and community agencies in an effective and timely manner to best address the patient’s needs. Complete and document assessments and plans in the electronic medical record, accurately reflecting the patient’s current condition, situational factors, transition of care needs, and psychosocial imperatives. Provide consultation and resources to members of the healthcare team and maintain relevant and current knowledge of community resources. Participate in or assist with departmental, regional, or statewide stakeholder committees, projects, etc., as assigned or requested. Develop and maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations as they pertain to the role. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Social Work. Experience in individual, family assessment, crisis intervention, grief and loss counseling, and discharge planning. Preferred: Master’s Social Work L.T.D. – State of Michigan (licensed Social Worker). Location & Schedule Primary Location: Royal Oak Hospital – 3601 W 13 Mile Rd – Royal Oak.
