Job Title and Location Assistant General Manager – WoodSpring Suites, Phoenix, Arizona. About the Role Hotel Management & Consulting is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant General Manager to lead operations in the absence of the General Manager and assist them with leading the team, ensuring that our service standards are consistently exceeded. Primary Duties Team Lead: Train and provide guidance to staff, discuss performance discrepancies with the General Manager, attend and lead staff huddles, and provide hands‑on support to achieve outstanding results. Financial: Post checks in PMS, complete weekly labor tracker, manage payment‑due reports, post‑paid outs and receipts. Guest Relations: Ensure the hotel is always "Guest Ready" by maintaining high cleanliness standards, swiftly addressing guest concerns, monitoring feedback, suggesting and selling amenities, and ensuring guest and property security. Housekeeping: Assign rooms for cleaning, assist the GM in room inspections. Other: Manage inventory, check property email, build relationships with vendors and guests, and foster teamwork. Sales & Marketing: Network locally to promote the property, build relationships with competitive properties, local organizations, and key clients, and lead in‑house guest sales and marketing initiatives to increase occupancy. Teamwork: Assist with housekeeping in rooms as needed, complete laundry duties and public space needs, and cover employee shifts for operational continuity. Emergency Procedures: Know and follow property emergency procedures, ensuring security needs of the property and guests are met. Other Duties as Assigned. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 1 year’s experience in hotel leadership, including front desk and back‑of‑house operations. Proficient computer skills. Strong team‑building skills. Excellent organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving abilities. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proactive in solving problems. Physical Requirements Perform tasks involving kneeling, squatting, standing, sitting, bending, and twisting for long periods. Ability to lift, push, pull up to 20 lbs regularly, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
