Human Resources Business Partner
People Structure
Job Description
Job Description
People Structure is partnering with a well-established organization to identify an experienced HR Generalist. Our client is committed to supporting their people and building a strong, positive workplace, and they're looking to add a hands-on HR professional to their team on-site. Due to the confidential nature of this search, the client's name will be shared with qualified candidates during the interview process.
The HR Generalist is a key member of our Human Resources team, responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle across recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. This is a broad, people-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys balancing day-to-day administrative work with meaningful employee support. The HR Generalist will also help ensure the organization stays compliant with credentialing, licensure, and regulatory requirements that keep our staff and clients safe.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment: posting positions, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and supporting hiring managers through selection.
- Manage new-hire onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, credential and license verification, and orientation.
- Ensure all pre-employment requirements (e.g., health screenings, references, licensure/certification checks) are completed and documented.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
- Support managers in addressing performance, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters in a fair and consistent manner.
- Help plan and execute employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and open enrollment support.
- Manage leave of absence processes (FMLA, disability, and other applicable leaves), tracking eligibility and documentation.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, PTO, and payroll-related matters.
Compliance & Records
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS and personnel files.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as healthcare-specific regulations (e.g., licensure, credentialing, mandatory training).
- Support audits, reporting, and required regulatory documentation.
- Track and monitor staff certifications, licenses, and required trainings to ensure they remain current.
HR Operations
- Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate employee data and timekeeping records.
- Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures.
- Generate HR reports and metrics to support data-informed decision-making.
- Contribute to HR projects and process improvements as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of HR experience, preferably as a generalist or in a similar broad HR role.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
