Manufacturing Operator

Job Overview As a Manufacturing Operator, you are responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining select progressive die press machines, auxiliary equipment, saws, assembly tables, specific automated machinery, Cadweld / Flashweld / brazing equipment, and other miscellaneous manufacturing tooling to safely produce quality products of varying material according to blueprint specifications. Responsibilities Sets up and operates heavy‑duty power equipment to bend, form, stretch and straighten a variety of products/materials such as plates, extrusions, structural shapes, etc., as specified by blueprints, layout, and templates. Assists setup and operate multiple automatic and/or multi‑slide equipment performing simultaneous processes for a variety of products. Understands and works from drawings, order/route sheets, schedules, written and verbal instructions. Checks material for correct size, type, identification, configuration, and color. Assists with set‑up of dies, movable and stationary equipment, forming blocks, adjusting stroke and feed as needed. Competently uses micrometers, calipers, scales, tape measures, calculators, and fixed gauges to check work in process and ensure adherence to specifications. Moves materials using pallet jack, lift truck or crane (if PIT qualified) as necessary. Installs and checks safety devices as needed for specific jobs. Reports faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor or other appropriate resources. Observes and adheres to all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed, which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs. Qualifications Strong troubleshooting skills necessary, with the ability to make informed decisions. Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment and meet operational deadlines. Must be self‑motivated, safety and quality conscious, and work efficiently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints. Experience using hand and power tools. Prior experience working in a light industrial facility preferred. Heavy lifting required (up to 50 lbs). Lift truck operator experience recommended.
