Pool Server
The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Pool Server to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. The Pool Server will be responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. The Pool Server is expected to provide timely service with guest satisfaction as the primary goal.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting guests and welcoming them in a friendly manner
- Taking drink orders and following policy regarding service of alcohol
- Knowing the menu and being able to explain menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests
- Coordinating with the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered on time and together
- Serving food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and good presentation, and timed so the entire table is served within a reasonable time frame
- Checking on guests during their meals to ensure satisfaction and address requests/concerns
- Handling guest complaints or concerns professionally and bringing issues to management
- Collaborating with fellow servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
Qualifications include:
- One year of restaurant server or customer service is preferred
- Previous Luxury or Forbes experience preferred
- Strong multitasking and time management abilities
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including dietary restrictions and allergies
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating tips
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
- Physical demands: Ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis and prolonged extended periods of standing outdoors with high temperature weather and humidity
