Accounts Receivable Specialist

A fast-growing international consumer goods and distribution company is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support day-to-day AR operations and maintain accurate financial records across high-volume customer accounts. This position will work closely with accounting, sales, and operations teams to ensure timely payment processing, account reconciliation, and resolution of deductions and billing discrepancies. This role offers strong exposure to large retail and national accounts while providing long-term growth opportunities within accounting and finance operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process and apply customer payments including ACH, wire transfers, checks, and credit card transactions within the ERP system
• Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate records for national accounts and retail partners
• Research and resolve short payments, chargebacks, deductions, and invoice discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams
• Review invoices and account activity to ensure billing accuracy and proper pricing application
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances to support timely collections and reduce past-due accounts
• Generate accounts receivable reports and assist management with financial tracking and analysis
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and audit preparation
• Maintain organized financial documentation and perform additional accounting support duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting support, or related financial operations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with financial data entry and reconciliations
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
