Job Title: Registered Dietitian (Inpatient)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Type: Contract | 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Monday – Friday | Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 42.5 Hours Per Week | 5 Shifts Per Week

Pay Rate: $69 – $78/hour (Based on Experience)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Inpatient Dietitian for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for hospitalized patients.

• Screen for malnutrition using standardized tools (e.g., Malnutrition Screening Tool).

• Diagnose malnutrition and develop individualized nutrition care plans.

• Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy for patients across all age groups.

• Monitor and evaluate patient nutrition status and adjust care plans accordingly.

• Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies.

• Adjust nutrition support based on lab results, energy needs, and clinical status.

• Recommend dietary modifications, supplements, and nutrition-related interventions.

• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and families.

• Collaborate with physicians using protocol-driven nutrition orders.

• Participate in hospital QAPI (Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement) initiatives.

• Attend interdisciplinary rounds, departmental meetings, and staff development sessions.

• Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) – Required.

• Minimum 2+ years of inpatient or critical care experience.

• Strong clinical nutrition and Medical Nutrition Therapy experience.

• Experience with malnutrition diagnosis and nutrition screening tools.

• Ability to manage enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric nutrition experience.

• Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred.

• Experience in hospital-based interdisciplinary care teams.
