This hybrid role ensures smooth unit operations and promotes a safe, organized, and patient-centered care environment.Essential Job FunctionsProvide direct care under the supervision of the RN/LPN, including hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and comfort.Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.Answer unit phones and serve as a liaison between patients, families, medical staff, and ancillary departments.Manage admissions, discharges, and transfers within the EMR system.Maintain accurate and organized patient records, charts, and logs.Order and restock supplies; maintain cleanliness and readiness of unit.Support coordination of tests, procedures, and patient transport.Safety Attendant (SA) at bedside for prevention of unintentional or intentional (suicide precautions) self-harm.Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.Other duties as assignedEducation:High School or GED, preferredExperience:2 year of the following experience is required: Direct patient care at an acute care hospital, long term care facility, rehabilitation facility, or licensed home care facility/agency, (OR)Completion of one year of RN school from an approved AND or BSN program where a minimum of 30 hours of clinical patient care was performed, (OR)Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), (OR)Current EMT Certification with less than 1 year volunteer or work experience (ED positions only), (OR)One year as a Nursing Unit Clerk or related healthcare clerical experienceLicensure/Certifications:BLS Certification within 6 months of hire, requiredSkills:AccountabilityClinical SkillsInteracting with PeopleMulti-TaskingReliabilityComputer SkillsTime ManagementOrganizing/Categorizing RecordsReading/Writing/ComprehensionPhysical Requirements:Light Work - Exerting up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
