Lead Worker

Summary: Perform supervisory and routine custodial activities to maintain buildings & grounds.Duties and Responsibilities:Plan, implement, oversee, and participate in custodial activities.Train and provide work direction to assigned employees, assigning and reviewing their work.Plans and implements appropriate responses to emergencies.Perform routine custodial activities, including sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and polishing floors, vacuuming carpets, spot cleaning, and maintaining the cafeteria. The supervisor and Manager may assign other duties.Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards to the Custodial Supervisor or other appropriate authority.Order custodial supplies by established guidelines and procedures.Maintain regular attendance of all custodiansRespond to emergency cleanups such as spills; maintain records of observed maintenance, repair needs, and safety issuesOperate cleaning equipment, including vacuums, floor strippers, buffers, polishers, carpet shampooers, scrubbers, high-pressure sprayers, manual and power sweepers, and power blowers, as assigned.All other duties as assigned.Education and experience:High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.Two years’ experience with an established Janitorial Contractor.Attended Custodial Training Class for 6 months or other related experienceKnowledge and Abilities:Basic methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in custodial work and routine maintenance.Proper methods of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.Proper lifting techniques.Principles of training and providing work direction to fellow custodiansSafety precautions and procedures.
